Books and Stuff

Hi everyone.

I’ve just posted this week’s book review so pop over to the REVIEWS page and have a look. The photo is a clue!

This week, I’ve also started reading the book for my new online BOOK GROUP which is A Boy Made of Blocks by Keith StuartSo far my reading of it has been a bit patchy because the Clark family were rather caught up by the Upstagers pantomime last week but I’m hoping that a long flight this week will give me chance to give it some proper attention.

I have also been trying to keep up with another book which is being delivered to my phone a chapter a time but then disappears by the end of the day. No pressure!! This is a newish site called Pigeonhole and if you sign up early enough, you get the book for free. It’s great fun but not the most relaxing way to consume a book!

Anyway, a few more words about the BOOK GROUP. I’m hoping that it will be a relaxed environment where we can read best-selling commercial fiction and then talk about it. I know a few people are already reading and there’s still plenty of time to get involved as I won’t open the forum for discussion until towards the end of the month. If you don’t fancy this month’s title then keep an eye on what’s coming up and drop in and out whenever your mood and time allows.

Please feel free to leave comments about either the book reviews, the blog or anything that you want to ask by clicking on the Comments link at the top of the page. In the meantime, have a great week reading. I’ll be back next week with stories from my upcoming trip to Sweden.

  1. Boy Made Of Blocks – I love a book that brings out your emotions by connecting you to the people inside and this book had me laughing, crying and hoping throughout. Anyone and everyone should read this book. Fantastic, thank you for the adventure, not the walk. xx

  2. You’ve finished already?! Well done Rachael. When I open the Forum for this book will you come back and tell us all again please?

  3. Hi Rachael.
I’ve now opened the forum so feel free to go over there and get the ball rolling with a comment. Maybe you could say what you enjoyed about it the most, which characters you liked or didn’t, if it left you with anything after you closed the cover for the last time? Whatever you want to say is great!
    Thank you.
